Some of my favourite sayings. Some have real meaning for me and some are just here because I like them.
It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Maybe it is but it sure is painful. I like this because it's basically saying that it's better to have tasted something than not. The loves that I have lost have been great while they lasted and I certainly would rather have experienced the love and pain than not.
The only way to predict the future is to invent it yourself. This is cool because it suggests that we all have the power and control to change things. It's inspiring.
This too will pass. When life is shitty it's always worth remembering that the current chapter will close and another will open.

People rarely say what they think, instead opting for what they perceive to be the most appropriate under the circumstances.
If history teaches us one thing it's that we don't learn from history. It suggests that we don't learn from our mistakes, or more specifically that we don't learn from other people's mistakes. Very true I think.
Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. Bear that in mind. I guess this is related to What goes around comes around, meaning that whatever you do to someone else will probably be done to you, a variation of He that lives by the sword dies by the sword.
